I have to say that during this time of recession, I would expect the kids to be more sensible and understand what is happening around them, their family and friends...

Unfortunately, I have to say the younger generation have it easy now, and never gone through a hard time like our parents or grandparents... I guess we are the fortunate ones. We lead a pretty comfortable life, thanks to our parents. Having said that, we shouldn't take things for granted and expect to live lavishly despite the recession, that is if anyone in your family is affected by it.

I guess I've seen my parents getting retrenched and went through recession. That time I was still pretty young (about 11 yrs old). I used to get whatever I want, i just need to ask and I will get it. But when my parents were hit by the recession, suddenly everything tightened and I could not get whatever I want. It was easy for me and I didn't quite understand then. But now I do. Thanks to that, I have learnt not to take things for granted and expect life to remain cruisy all the way.

I wish kids out there would sit down and think through this... if your family is hit by this in anyway, try to understand your parents. It will pass over time, just hang on. It will pass :)

Guess trying to grow my hair to mid-length is really testing my patience and I caved in to my temptations to get it cut! Oh well, at least it's not short to the extreme! :)

I'm so glad to went to get it cut today :) I've been to Le Salon so many times and today I finally saw Kim Robinson in the salon :)

Anyway, here's my new look! :)

I can't believe this couple can actually do this just to get more petrol! It really shows how some Singaporeans can go to such extremes in JB just to pump more petrol into their vehicle! Seriously, it shows the KIASU-ISM in Singaporeans! Sigh! Please don't embarrass us Singaporeans!!

Watch this and you'd probably will laugh! I'm pretty sure alot of you drivers out there do that in JB!!

Had a pretty bad day at work today.... Actually, it's been a bad week at work FULLSTOP! Somehow, today was really bad that I had to take a breather alone and took an hour's walk... When i got back to office after lunch, 2 people changed my mood!

They are none other but my 2 wonderful I.T. guys from work! ET and Lam, thank you guys for being such sweeties! E.T actually ordered a box of mini snowskin champagne truffle & ganache mooncakes from Raffles hotel for me!! He gave that box of mooncakes to me today. they are soooooo YUMMY!!

While I was there at their cubicles, Lam offered me cream puffs and chocolate eclairs! They are so nice and creamy!

I really appreciate this guys! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! :)

I really wonder if Singapore roads are just gonna be filled with ERP gantries within the next 5 years!! Imagine each gantries are like 5metres apart!! ahahahha!! CRAZY!!!

Only men are allowed to buy cucumbers?!?

Read a really funny article this morning. Can't believe that a country can ban women from buying cucumbers!! WHY?? Cos they look suggestive! So not only cucumbers that they can't buy, but ALL suggestive looking vegetables!!!

So what are the suggestive looking vegetables?? Besides cucumbers, there are also egg plant (brinjal), radish, carrots, bitter gourd (hmmm... all that ripples)!

I guess, it may be a good thing for the women then cos' since they can't get those type of vegetables, the men will have to go get the groceries!! So it isn't that bad afterall huh!?! Maybe other countries can start implementing this rule, and the women can sit back and relax while the men go get the suggestive looking vegetables!! HA HA!!

Wanna know which country banned women from getting these type of vegetables?? It's..... BAGHDAD!! Thanks to Al Qaeda!!

Ivor's Visit to Singapore - 22 July 2008

It's been awhile since I last saw my buddy, Ivor! The last time I saw him was about a couple of years back when I was back in Auckland. Can't believe how much I've missed his company.

Ivor was my best buddy when I first started work in the School of Engineering, University of Auckland in year 2000. I missed all the coffee breaks we had at the coffee stand in campus. He's been a great friend since then. I think he is the one person who could put up with my crap during my time there. He would rescue me from the weirdest people I see at work, and will just drag me out for coffee. What an excellent guy!

I was so happy when he told me he was going to swing by Singapore for a couple of days in July. And here he is... I took today (22 July 2008) off and spent a whole day doing touristy stuff with him. It was sooooo FUN!

We went to Funan Centre to look for some techy stuff, had lunch at a Thai restuarant. Then we headed off to Suntec City to book our Duck Tour, after that we went on to the Singapore Flyer. Since Ivor wanted to try some local food, I took him to Old Airport Road Hawker Centre for dinner. We had crocodile meat, stingray and fried oyster omelette, and Soursop juice. He really enjoyed it.

I have to say, I'm gonna miss him when he goes back to Auckland tomorrow. IVOR, you have to come visit me more often!!! heh heh!

Spring/Summer Collection 2008- Shoes

I really love the Spring/Summer Collection 2008 fashion. I shall just touch on shoes for now.

I am gobsmacked by the vibrant colours of this collection. Yellow, orange, pink, fuschia, blue, green and red... not forgetting silver and gold. I love all these colours!

I popped by Ninewest after work today, immediately I picked up 5 pairs of shoes to try... but only 3 pairs looked good on me. So in the end I bought 2 pairs and waiting for the 3rd pair to be transferred from another store cos' the pair they had was flawed :(

Not sure how far I'd go in getting this season's shoes... I can go overboard in buying shoes as I love SHOES! Especially if they are really unique, I will definitely get them if i can afford them.

Anyways, here are some of Ninewest shoes that I'm still eyeing at...

I know that all things come in all shapes and sizes but SHOES???

Ok, I have to admit, I love shoes! That explains the number of pairs of shoes I have, which I don't even dare to count or rather don't know where to start. Before I digress further, I chanced upon these weird looking things which are actually shoes that were worn on the runway.

YES DESIGNER SHOES!!! Take a look below and tell me how in the world anyone can wear them!! They look more like an ornament than shoes to me!

The colours are so vibrant and bright... All women should dress like this... This is how I feel! They are simply GORGEOUS!
