Goodbye Melbourne...

My work trip has finally come to an end... It's sad cos' I do like Melbourne. It really reminds me of Auckland and the people are really nice here.... Ok truthfully, I love the shops here. Hhaha! I've fallen in love with some of the local designers from Melbourne.

Just to name a few: Catherine Manuell, Olga Berg and Mimco. Well, I couldn't quite afford Mimco so I got lots of Catherine's and Olga Berg stuff. Will post some pics of them when I get back to singapore.

I'm typing this in the Singapore Airlines lounge at the moment. Just waiting for my flight in about an hour's time.

Anyway, will write all about my trip more when I get back to HOT SINGAPORE!!!

Manila Manila Manila

When I found out that our regional company workshop was going to be in Manila this year, we were all abit apprehensive about it. I mean from all the reports and media scaring people about how unsafe Manila is, it did scare me abit.

Anyways, last Saturday night, I flew out from Melbourne (transit in Singapore) with some of my Aussie workmates to Manila. We all sort of bitchin about going to Manila cos' we were kinda worried about our safety there.

But guess what? It's not as scary as I thought it was going to be. Yes traffic is scary, it's not a very clean city but the people there are nice and friendly. We stayed in Hotel Intercontinental in Makati... and the best part is, there's a huge mall situated just next to the hotel! FANTASTIC!

I was there for a week... I have to say, the workshop was tiring but the social events were really fun. I got to meet lots of other workmates from different countries and made new friends. It was great! We had a Country costume party on Thursday night. Basically each country has to wear another country's national costume.. so Singapore Team went in Korean Costume. Yeah you can imagine us dancing in our poofy outfit, very unflattering! hahaha! But we had so much fun!

AND I ate this disgusting looking but tasty Filipino delicacy called Balut (think that's how it's spelt). Basically, it's a 7 days old duck's egg. So you can imagine the fetus of the duck was kinda formed. The egg is cooked though, so that's a relief. Anyways, it tasted like chicken really... hahaha! Ironic huh?! I will post some pics of it when I can :o) Guess I can join Fear Factor now ahahha! Ya right!

Now I'm back in Melbourne, will be here for another week before heading back to Singapore. Think I'm gonna miss Melbourne heaps! It's a really nice city! I'm gonna miss all my Aussie workmates too...

Kate, Kiera, Audra, Maja, Andrew S, Andrew B, Annie... It's been nice meeting you all! Hope our paths will cross again sometime soon... gonna miss you all!!

Greetings from Melbourne!

Hi Everybody! YES I am in Melbourne now. Got in last evening at 7pm. The flight here was ok, thank goodness for Business class...hahah!!

Anyways, today I'm mainly in the Melbourne GSK office... tomorrow onwards I'll be out at site. This is going to be fun! hehehe :o)

The weather's been really good. It was really sunny this morning when the driver (Ken)picked me up. It's about an hour's drive from the service apartment to the office. So we chatted all the way.

I'll try to explore the city sometime this week..heheh! Can't wait!

I'll write more whenever I can...if possible will post some pics too... For now, take care my friends :o)
