I'm a Talent!

Whether in the arts, science, engineering, business, or politics, you fearlessly express your own vision of the world. You're not afraid of a fight, and you're not afraid to bet your future on your own abilities. If you find a job boring or stifling, you're already preparing your resume. You believe in doing what you love, and you're not willing to settle for an ordinary life.

Take the Talent, Lifer, or Mandarin quiz.

Which Sports Car Are You?

I'm a Lamborghini Murcielago!

You're not subtle, but you don't want to be. Fast, loud, and dramatic, you want people to notice you, and then get out of the way. In a world full of sheep, you're a raging bull.

The Ride...

On Monday, 24 July 2006, at about 12.50pm, I was taking the MRT train back to office from Chinatown during lunchtime. Chinatown and Outram stations are only 1 station apart... But little did I know that I ended up taking 1hr to get to Outram MRT Station...

This is what happened...

While waiting for the train in Chinatown Station, we all heard a loud "Bang" and a bright spark coming from one end of the station, but we didn't know where it really came from. So when the train came, everyone hopped into the train as per normal... Then when the train got to Outram MRT Station, the train stopped but the train door didn't open. An announcement came and said that there was some technical problems, and told us to get off in the next station (Harbourfront). So the train starting moving, about 10 seconds after the train left the station, the train started shaking, lights flickered, then the train screeched and shook and came to a stop... There's no power!! We all panicked as we do not know what was happening and what was going to happen next...

These thoughts were going through my mind that freaked me out further:

1. Terrorist Attack!!
2. Some moron jumped onto the train tracks again
3. Was it that loud bang we heard that caused this, if it was, what was it??
4. What if the next train didn't stop in time and slammed straight into the train we are in??

I was terrified by those thoughts... I called my fiance immediately and started crying... since there was no power, the inside of the train was getting stuffy, i started feeling giddy! Finally, about 40min later, we were told that we have to walk in the tunnel and on the tracks back to Outram Station, and not to touch any wires?? WHAT WIRES??? They only opened one door in the train, and it was at the cabin I was in. Everyone started crowding and zooming towards the cabin I was in that made the place even more stuffy... I wanted to faint! just as well, everyone walked out in a very orderly manner (very unlike Singaporeans), but then again, maybe I my perception of panicky singaporeans rushing to get out of some trapped place has changed since this incident.

When we were walking through the tunnel, I saw this HUGE copper wire hanging off the train... Apparently, it snapped and fell off the ceiling and onto the train we were in... It looked like a huge tree trunk/branch! So that was the cause of it all, not POWER TRIP!!!!

Anyway, the walk was about 5min... Finally we were back in outram station... WHaT A RELIEF!!

Here are some pics taken in the tunnel... hands were still shaking abit when i was trying to take the pics... yes I am a "CHICKEN"

So here are some pics taken while I was walkin in through the tunnel from the train back to Outram station...

This first picture was taken when we just got off the train, walkin by the side of the train in the tunnel. In front of me was a blind man guided by another passenger...

The following pictures were taken after walkin on the tracks... Some pics are blurry cos' my hands were shaking!

Is GOLD in???

If anyone has noticed, designers are making gold accessories... I think that is the craze for this season. At least I know Dior are making them :o)

Since Gold is in, I may as well follow the trend and make some accessories in GOLD! I've never really been a big fan of yellow gold but after looking at those amazing designer pieces in Gold, it has inspired me to make some in Gold too.

This weekend, I made a long necklace made with a gold chain, and assorted gold, black and white beads! I wore it with a yellow spaghetti top yesterday, and I have to say, it goes really well with yellow outfits. The big black beads just stand out from the gold chains and yellow top.

Ok I've yet to take pictures of the necklace yet but will do so very soon... so watch out for this space :o)

Looking back...

I realised I've not been updating my blog... Sorry guys, been quite busy with wedding preparations that I haven't had the time to blog!

Over the past few weeks, I'm proud to say that I've actually accomplished making quite a few nice pieces for myself. But of course, if anyone wants anything that I've made, please feel free to drop me a line and let me know :o)

Looking back, all my initial pieces really look very amatuer-ish! Then again, who can blame me as I only just started making them then, and was still trying to learn the techniques of twisting wires and beading! I won't say that I am an expert now, but at least my techniques have improved.

Being creative can be quite tiring! There are times I get so frustrated when I just can't seem to get the design right! Either the colour combination for the beads don't match, or the pieces do not sit nicely or hang nicely! What do I do when I stuff it up??? I dismantle the whole thing!! It's just one of those things what people will say about those who are creative - WIERD! It's just like painting or drawing, if somehow after painting/drawing the piece of art halfway or completely, and realised that it just doesn't look the way you want it to be, you will tear it apart and redo it. That's me, I used to do that to my drawings or paintings when I was in school! Guess that cultivated my so-called "Perfectionist" trait even though I don't think I am a perfectionist!

Maybe when it comes to making accessories, I always want it to look unique and uncommon! So that explains the frustrations! :o) Other than that, it's very fulfilling and enjoyable making something that people will appreciate and like.

Well, look out for my next few postings on what I've made lately...
